Now enough about me, let’s talk about the GRS Ultra Review beef! Why did I propose my friends start eating grass fed beef as opposed to typical meat? Because a lot of them are on diets, and grass-fed beef is much lower in total fat. This is a big deal- there is about 25 percent less total fat content in cattle raised on pastures when compared to a corn fed cow in an animal factory. Don’t believe me? As the USDA, who labels almost all grass-fed beef as ‘lean’ meat! The reason for this difference in total fat content is that grass-fed cattle eat what they are supposed to be eating, therefore they process what they’re consuming better. Also, corn-fed cattle are forced to gain weight very fast so they can be slaughtered for their meat more quickly. The type of fat these cows put on is very unhealthy for people to be consuming.
Another reason I ask my friends and family to choose grass-fed beef is because it isn’t pumped full of hormones! Grain-fed cattle are injected with hormones, again, to increase productivity and profit for meat producing companies. I’m guessing you wouldn’t want to ingest those. Instead of hormones, grass-fed cattle are filled with omega-3 fatty acids. That’s right, they dine on grasses and plants that are chock full of omega 3’s and the benefits can be passed on to you! This is important because these fatty acids can prevent cancer, lower high blood pressure, and lower cholesterol.
